Champions Honoring Accountability, Motivation, Performance and Skills (C.H.A.M.P.S)

Therapeutic Mentoring Ages 13–18 Connecticut

Champions Honoring Accountability, Motivation, Performance and Skills (C.H.A.M.P.S) is a therapeutic mentoring program within Daniel's Company Youth Leadership Mentoring Program, serving young men aged 13-18 in Connecticut who are involved in the Juvenile Justice System, Child Welfare System, or have a history of trauma or system involvement. Our mission is to provide healthy and positive relationships to our mentees while giving them clinical and life skills that will benefit them in every aspect of their lives. We achieve this through adventure therapy, life skill workshops, hands-on activities, guest speakers and more, with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness and a strength-based approach. Additionally, our program is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles from initial engagement.

Our staff are highly qualified professionals with strong clinical backgrounds and therapeutic expertise. They hold degrees in fields like Social work, Psychology and Counseling and have specialized training in evidence-based therapies and interventions and or lived experiences. Our team is passionate about empowering youth to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Daniel's Company Youth Leadership Horizons of Greatness

Ages 12–19 Leadership Development Mind • Body • Spirit

Daniel's Company Youth Leadership Horizons of Greatness is a program designed to provide youth who are a 12 to 19 years old not at risk with the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to become leaders in their communities. The program is designed to be a holistic and comprehensive approach to youth leadership development, focusing on the development of the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. The program aims to provide youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to become leaders in their communities, help youth develop a sense of purpose and direction, provide youth with opportunities to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, help youth develop their communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills, and provide youth with opportunities to engage in community service and volunteer work. This program is led by trained program staff and volunteers who will provide guidance, support, and supervision to the youth. The program will be offered on a regular basis, with a minimum of one activity per month. Program activities will include leadership development workshops and training sessions, community service opportunities.
